Essential activities for building the Premium Tech Tool Diagnostic Kit: • Select laptops capable of handling day to day requirements of service bay activities. • Weed out preventative hurdles that cause software and adapter functionality problems and configure the laptop for vehicle diagnostic operations. • Obtain PTT software direct from the source and install it properly.
• Configure and optimize the software to work with both the laptop and adapter. • Set the software for optimized communication between the laptop and vehicle.
• Test software and adapter functionality on the vehicles it supports. • Enable Bluetooth connection to give technicians freedom to move about the vehicle for diagnostic activities.

About Premuim Tech Tool 2 Premium Tech Tool 2 is the second generation of Premium Tech Tool. Advancements were made for the OBD2013 and newer Volvo and Mack vehicles that are using the 16 pin OBD diagnostic connector. The 16 pin OBD connector includes three data links. J1939, J1587 and ISO 15765. Premium Tech Tool 2 must be used for all Volvo and Mack powered OBD2013 and newer vehicles. PTT 2 supports the new ISO protocol as well as the older J1939 and J1587 Protocols. The ISO protocol is for all powertrain ECU’s; ECM, ACM and the TCM. The DPA 5 is J2534-compliant and is able to reprogram all CAN/ISO15765 vehicles, GM vehicles using the J1850 Variable Pulse Width (VPW) protocol, or other vehicles using the DPA 5 J2534-supported protocols (i.e. ISO9141/KWP2000).

Premium Tech Tool is the OEM software that dealers use to communicate with both Mack and Volvo Trucks. This gives you all functionality including parameter changing, injector cut-out tests, and all system related functional tests (Such as EGR, turbo, accelerator position, etc...)
This software comes with 12 months of technical support (For problems with the software only, does not include diesel engine troubleshooting) and connectivity to the Volvo Central Systems. After 12 months you lose this connectivity, however the program will still function and operate like normal. This connectivity is not required for the program, it just means you won't be getting the latest information.
